Chef Cynthia Johnson

As lead vocalist of the #1 hit song Funkytown, Cynthia traveled the world and was able to explore foods of many different cultures and prepared in a variety of ways.  At an early age she enjoyed a variety of foods, and so it is today.  The preparation is different, but her passion for flavorful food remains the same.

Today Cynthia prefers to maintain maximum nutrition while enjoying the full flavors of herbs, spices, whole fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.  Cynthia’s interest in raw foods began in 2004.  From Italian to Oriental, American Burgers to loafs, ice creams, cobblers and sweet potato pie, Cynthia prepares them all with amazing flavor.

Cynthia received certification for Micro Management and Entrepreneurial Studies at NDC in Minnesota.  Cynthia has received her Detoxification Certification from the Creative Health Institute in Union City Michigan, along with classes that taught proper growing and sprouting technique.Cynthia is a graduate of the Raw Culinary Arts Institute in Chicago Illinois where she studied under Chef Mehmet Ak.  At the Institute Cynthia learned the beautiful art of raw food preparation, presentation and preparing signature recipes.  Cynthia is also a student of Holistic Medicine at Global College Of Natural Medicine and is currently writing her first book, From Funkytown to Higher Ground: A Journey To Wellness, which will be available In 2013.
